Born 11 September 1949 in Warsaw, Ewa Szykulska made her debut in cinema in 1966, at the age of 17. In 1971 she graduated from the State Higher Theatrical School in Warsaw, and in 1973 she made her debut in the theater. She worked in theaters in Warsaw, Wroclaw and Poznan, played in many films.
The debut of the 17-year-old actress in the movie was the role in Stanislav Kokezh’s film “Tandem.” A year later, in 1967, the great Polish director Jerzy Hoffmann npticed a young talent and invited to his film “Father”. A few years later, in 1974, their paths once again crossed – Ewa Szykulska played one of the central roles in the famous film “The Flood”, a screen version of the famous novel by Henry Sienkiewicz.

Meanwhile, film directors in the USSR also noted the original young actress and invited her to play in the historical drama film. In particular, the film of the brilliant Vladimir Motyl “The Star of Captivating Happiness” (1975). The director, fascinated by the beauty of the Polish actress, her impeccable knowledge of the Russian language, without trial confirmed her to the role of the beloved of Decembrist Ivan Annenkov – the Frenchwoman Polina Geble. On the set of this film Ewa Szykulska became even more free to speak and to think in Russian, which greatly simplified communication with famous Russian actors. Among them – Igor Kostolevsky, Alexei Batalov, Irina Kupchenko and Innokenty Smoktunovsky.

Two years later, Eva Shikulska played the main female role – the writer’s wife, benevolent Zina, in the film by director Ilya Averbakh’s “Explanation of Love.” In this film, the actress once again impressed Soviet spectators with her beauty.
