When Stanley Kubrick was making his famous film “Shining” based on Stephen King’s novel, he shot some scenes in the villa of the famous Hollywood actress Barbra Streisand.
Barbra could not wait to see the finished film as soon as she liked the plot of the film. Besides, Jack Nicholson played the insane writer so convincingly that sometimes some of the members of the crew became uncomfortable. In addition, the actress did not lose the phrase, said somehow by Kubrick about the King’s novel: “He very plausibly describes all these otherworldly events. At times I even begin to believe that after death we really do not die.”
After a while, friends and acquaintances of Barbra began to notice that something was going on with her. Barbara always looked sleepy, became withdrawn, avoided noisy parties, all day thinking about something… The inquiries did not give anything – the actress either laughed or threw something like: “No, everything is Ok. I’m all right.”
At the same time, the press got information that supposedly came from the service staff of the villa, where Mrs. Streisand lived.

Frightened cooks, maids and gardeners unanimously insisted that something terrible was happening in the house. At night, in empty rooms, the doors slam and floorboards creak. The cups and plates fall out of the cupboards themselves, smashing to pieces, and from the dark corners now and again come chilling groaning moans.
Soon the mistress of the enchanted house herself had to admit that her life had turned into a real nightmare. “All this devilry in the house is not so bad,” Barbra said in an interview, “but at night I have dreams that are weird and terrible, and I feel that these dreams will drive me crazy very soon.” No matter how the journalists tried to “talk” the star about the subjects of her nightmares, she answered them with a refusal. “It will not tell anybody about anything, but unfortunately, it speaks too much to me.”

Mrs. Streisand did everything to try to restore the former tranquility! Numerous psychics were invited to the villa, specialists in the occult were on duty for days and nights. Meanwhile, Barbara’s personal doctor prescribed dozens of recipes for ever stronger sedative medications. However, the mental health of the film actress has already begun to cause the most serious fears.

In the end, Barbra gave up. She not only bought herself another mansion, but also ordered to drive a couple of bulldozers, to wipe the villainous villa off the face of the earth. She did not tell anyone about her dreams. But according to her, these nightmares ended on the day when she got rid of the “Sinister House”. After a while, the mansion will turn into a pile of debris.
